The National Road Safety Foundation (NRSF), a renowned 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organisation, is once again partnering with the Chicago Auto Show to host the 11th annual Drive Safe Chicago PSA Contest. This event, aimed at promoting safe driving habits among young people, will take place at the nation's longest-running auto exposition in North America - the Chicago Auto Show, produced by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association.

The contest invites teens from Chicagoland and surrounding states to submit a script or written description for a 30-second television PSA about sharing the road. The Chicago Auto Show, which will be held at McCormick Place from Feb. 8-17, 2025, will serve as the venue for the winning PSA's debut. The winning creation will also air on the nationally-syndicated TV show "Teen Kids News".

Three student finalists will have the unique opportunity to work with an Emmy Award-winning director to transform their ideas into finished TV PSAs. The public will vote via the Chicago Auto Show Facebook page to select the winner, who will receive a $2,000 prize. The first runner-up will receive $1,500, and the second runner-up will get $500.

Teachers or school advisors of the winner and runners-up will each receive a $100 gift card. The contest is part of NRSF's broader mission to reduce crashes, deaths, and injuries on highways by focusing on distracted driving, speed and aggression, impaired driving, drowsy driving, driver proficiency, and pedestrian safety.

NRSF's website (www.nrsf.org/contests/drive-safe-chicago) provides detailed contest rules and an entry form. Entries must be received by Dec. 31, 2024. Additionally, all contest entrants will receive two complimentary tickets to the 2025 Chicago Auto Show.

For accurate and up-to-date information regarding the contest, I recommend checking official City of Chicago or Chicago Department of Transportation websites or their official social media channels where such contests are typically announced.
