UNWTO Launches Middle East Tourism Law Observatory in Amman

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is expanding its Tourism Law Observatory network. Following the success of the Latin America and Caribbean observatory in Uruguay, a new one for the Middle East is set to launch in Amman, Jordan.

The Middle East Observatory will operate from UNWTO's regional office in Amman. Its primary goal is to enhance regulatory frameworks, encourage regional cooperation, and optimize governance models in the tourism sector. This initiative is part of UNWTO's broader programme of Tourism Law Observatories, endorsed at its 25th General Assembly.

The observatory will serve as a hub for research, publications, and dialogue, supported by experts and academic partners. It will be a digital platform offering countries a space to share best practices, tackle common challenges, and promote stakeholder participation in tourism policy shaping.

The Middle East Observatory, based in Amman, will provide a digital platform and knowledge hub for tourism-related laws and regulations. It aims to improve regulatory frameworks, foster cooperation, and optimize governance models in the region's tourism sector.
