Breidert Elementary School Expansion Planned in Roeder Mark

Transformed education venture: Expansion and modernization at Breidert Primary School

The Breidert Elementary School in Roeder Mark is set for a significant modernization, with an investment of around 30 million euros aimed at accommodating increasing student enrollment and improving school facilities.

Project Details

The expansion project includes adding new classrooms, upgrading existing infrastructure, and possibly expanding recreational areas. The modernized facilities will feature modernized classrooms, enhanced technology integration, improved accessibility, and additional support spaces such as libraries or multipurpose rooms.

Timeline

The planning phase for the project is nearing completion, covering design, permits, and community consultation. Construction is expected to begin shortly after planning, possibly in the next school break or upcoming quarter. Anticipated completion is within 1-2 years from the start, aiming to open the new facilities for the upcoming school year following completion.

Impact on Student Numbers

The expansion is expected to increase the school's capacity by several hundred students. This enables the school to accept more students from Roeder Mark and surrounding neighborhoods, reducing overcrowding. The new school will accommodate up to 300 children and will also provide sports facilities for local clubs.

Construction Process

The construction work is divided into two phases, with lessons continuing during the process to avoid temporary relocation. The first new building section is scheduled to be ready for students in early 2026.

Notable Milestones

The topping-out ceremony, attended by Mayor Jörg Rotter, District Administrator Oliver Quilling, Deputy District Administrator Alexander Böhn, and architect Christian Nasedy, marked the next steps in the project's progression. During the ceremony, Christian Nasedy explained the next steps of the project, detailing the creation of a new school complex featuring twelve new classrooms, rooms for woodworking, music, and group activities, and a large sports hall.

The new school will be equipped with modern facilities, offering significantly more learning comfort for children and teaching staff. New rooms are also being created for the "We are Breidert!" initiative, offering better opportunities for meetings and events in the future.

Significance of the Project

Mayor Rotter expressed gratitude towards the school community for their patience and forbearance during the construction process, while highlighting the significant advancement in the local school infrastructure with this new building. The investment in the Breidert Elementary School will create a modern and future-oriented educational location in Roeder Mark, contributing to the larger efforts to improve the local school infrastructure in the area.

Other education-and-self-development opportunities may be further provided with the creation of new rooms for the "We are Breidert!" initiative, offering better spaces for meetings and events in the future. The expansion of the Breidert Elementary School, including new classrooms and modern facilities, is expected to support the Other education-and-self-development of students by fostering a more comfortable learning environment.
