Toqaev celebrates victories of students in the international Olympiad
In the past year, Kazakh students have made a significant mark on the global stage, participating in over 30 international olympiads and scientific competitions and bringing home nearly 200 gold, over 300 silver, and around 500 bronze medals. The schoolchildren excelled in a variety of subjects, including chemistry, mathematics, physics, geography, informatics, and biology.
One of the most notable achievements was by Akezhan Askar from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Semey, who won a silver medal at the 36th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) held in Sucre, Bolivia in 2025. Kazakhstan has been a consistent contender in the IOI since its debut in 1999.

The winners were awarded 4 gold, 11 silver, and 9 bronze medals, with monetary prizes worth approximately $3,500 USD for gold medal winners, $2,300 USD for silver, and $1,150 USD for bronze.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who presented certificates for these monetary prizes, expressed his confidence that the winners will make a significant contribution to Kazakhstan's development in the future. He also highlighted the immense contribution of respected teachers who have helped develop the students' abilities.
In a meeting at the Akorda residence, President Tokayev congratulated 24 schoolchildren who are winners and medalists of international subject olympiads.
