Tomorrow's talents in local robotics, Innok Robotics, set to welcome business delegation from OTH and Regensburg University for a development-focused visit.

In the heart of Bavaria, the Regensburg district is making strides in connecting international students with local businesses, creating a win-win situation for all involved. This innovative approach, funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is spearheaded by the projects "OTH BRIDGE" (OTH Regensburg) and iSTEPS (University of Regensburg).

International students find a professional home in the Regensburg region, gaining valuable insights and connections by networking with local businesses. On the other hand, companies in the district benefit from the influx of highly qualified specialists, fostering innovation and creativity.

District Councilor Tanja Schweiger emphasised the importance of this initiative, stating that international students bring valuable specialist knowledge and new perspectives to the region. This close cooperation between science, business, and regional promotion is considered a special feature of the Regensburg district.

Roland Weiß, Economic Developer of the Regensburg district, highlighted the unique nature of the format, bringing international talents and innovative companies together directly. One such company is Innok Robotics, which develops robotics solutions used throughout Europe. For Innok Robotics, international students are not only a valuable resource for their specialist knowledge but also for their intercultural skills.

Theresa Zirkelbach, personnel manager at Innok Robotics, highlighted the need for creative, well-trained specialists. She expressed her appreciation for the early contact with international students, which allows her company to tap into a diverse pool of talent.

The networking format is considered important by Katja Eckhardt from the BRIDGE project at OTH Regensburg and Jhoana Palacio-Pineda, coordinator of the project at the International Office of the University of Regensburg. They emphasised the importance of enabling international students to make contact with regional employers early on.

The Economic Development Agency of the Regensburg district, in collaboration with international students from Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) Regensburg and the University of Regensburg, visited Innok Robotics in Regenstauf on August 28. This visit was part of a series of events connecting international students with district employers.

The universities also welcome this networking format. By connecting international students with local businesses, both the region and the companies contribute to the region's continued strength and attractiveness as an economic location. The network created by this format continues to have an effect beyond the study period and contributes to securing skilled workers in the region.

In conclusion, the Regensburg district is setting an example for fostering talent and innovation by bridging the gap between international students and local businesses. This unique approach not only benefits the students but also contributes to the region's economic growth and attractiveness.
