New Trainee Teachers Begin Preparatory Service in Bayreuth

On Monday, September 15, 2025, the Bayreuth District Office initiated a preparatory service for new trainee teachers. This significant event marked the start of an intensive and formative phase for the future educators of primary and secondary schools.

During the preparatory service, the trainees will learn essential skills such as lesson planning and making their lessons lively and engaging. School office director Michael Hack highlighted the challenges and opportunities of this phase, emphasising the importance of the teaching profession.

In her oath-taking ceremony, trainee teacher Linda Froschauer, a lawyer from the Bayreuth District Office, administered a profound promise to the democratic community and the students. The new teachers were encouraged to trust in themselves, as mistakes belong to the joint learning process.

Tanja Meierott, Iris Sebald, and Michael Hack emphasised the importance of the teaching profession, stating that it involves more than just transmitting knowledge. Teachers are companions, role models, supporters, and listeners. The new teachers were advised to maintain humanity, seeing every student in their uniqueness.

The new trainee teachers were given three central wishes: Preserve curiosity to inspire others to learn, maintain humanity, and remember that they are responsible not only for their personal professional development but also for the children and young people entrusted to them.

School office director Hack expressed hope that the new teachers' path in the teaching service may bring joy, fulfillment, and many good encounters. The event concluded with warm congratulations from Hack, wishing the new teachers success in their journey to become outstanding educators.
