Sverdlovsk Honors Teachers on Day of Celebration
Sverdlovsk Oblast celebrated Teacher's Day with a grand reception at the Academic Musical Comedy Theater. Governor Denis Pasler awarded outstanding educators with honorary diplomas and the prestigious title of 'Merited Teacher of Sverdlovsk Oblast'.
The 'Merited Teacher' title was bestowed upon educators from various regions, including Ekaterinburg, Alapayevsk, Berezovsky, Novaya Lyalya, and Tavda. Yevgeny Arkhipov, a physical education teacher at School No. 9 in Tavda, was among the recipients. Arkhipov has dedicated 34 years to his alma mater, demonstrating the impact of the 'Zemsky Teacher' program in the region. The program has shown its effectiveness and relevance in attracting and retaining talented teachers in rural areas.
Annually, 25 regional competitions with substantial prize funds are held to honor teachers. The proportion of young teachers in Sverdlovsk schools has risen to 27%, indicating a fresh influx of educators. The regional government supports this trend by maintaining housing assistance and improving support for graduates of pedagogical universities. Denis Pasler, himself, thanked his former teacher, Lyudmila Nikolaevna Novitskaya, from School No. 1 in North Ural, highlighting the personal impact teachers have on their students' lives.
The 'Merited Teacher of Sverdlovsk Oblast' award recognizes the dedication and hard work of teachers across the region. With initiatives like the 'Zemsky Teacher' program and annual competitions, the region continues to value and invest in its teaching professionals, fostering a new generation of educators and learners.
