Summer construction projects in Nordhorn, set for the year 2025 holiday season

In the vibrant city of Nordhorn, the summer holidays of 2025 were not just a time for relaxation, but also a period of transformation for several schools and kindergartens. Here's a rundown of the renovation projects that took place:

At Deegfeld High School, five offices received a facelift, costing approximately 10,000 euros. The computer room with print lab was also renovated, complete with new equipment and a connecting door, at a cost of around 17,000 euros. The redesign of the parking area and the renovation of classrooms and support rooms cost approximately 16,000 euros and 85,000 euros, respectively.

Freiherr-vom-Stein High School saw significant improvements in safety lighting across three building parts, with an investment of around 50,000 euros. The renewal of measurement, control, and regulation technology in the new building (passive house) came with a price tag of approximately 60,000 euros.

Brandlecht Primary School expanded temporary bicycle parking for approximately 2,000 euros, while Brandlecht Kindergarten renovated WC facilities on the top floor for around 15,000 euros. Notably, the Kindergarten Haus für Kinder / Lehmkamp did not undergo any renovation work mentioned in this text.

Blumensiedlung Primary School is currently in the midst of a large-scale renovation project, which includes roof and facade renovation, a photovoltaic system, and windows. This construction project is set to continue until autumn 2025, with an estimated cost of around 780,000 euros.

Roggenkamp Primary School undertook several renovation projects, including the connection of 15 room air technical installations to the building control system for approximately 15,000 euros. The art and craft room was converted into a classroom, costing around 14,000 euros. The boys' WC was renovated with new wall and floor tiles, sanitary equipment, and other improvements for approximately 50,000 euros. Additionally, handrails were retrofitted in an existing staircase for approximately 4,500 euros.

EMA Primary School saw the conversion of a WC into the principal's office, which cost approximately 15,000 euros. The renovation of the art and craft room, converted into a classroom, was also part of the school's renovation plan.

Pestalozzi Primary School renovated classrooms and group rooms in the annex building, including LED lighting, acoustic ceilings, new floor coverings, and wall painting, for approximately 70,000 euros. Bookholt Primary School exchanged the door to the workshop for approximately 3,000 euros.

Lastly, the Geschwister-Scholl-Oberschule in Dalum was comprehensively renovated during the summer holidays of 2025. The municipality of Geeste invested around 168,000 euros in various school renovations, including the biology specialist classroom and other rooms in the C-building.

These renovations are part of Nordhorn's commitment to providing quality education in a safe, modern, and comfortable environment for its students.
