To capitalize on this momentum, they set a higher goal and successfully raised a staggering 1,300,000 kuna, surpassing the initial aim by almost ten percent. A portion of these funds has been dedicated to the construction of bungalows, accommodation facilities, and even a geodesic dome inspired by a Mars habitat, decked out for lectures and learning.
Aco Momčilović, the project manager, marvels at the speed of collecteds donations, which he describes as an indicator of the observatory's influence and respect for Korado Korlević's unwavering dedication. This mini-movement unearthed not only financial contributions but also unified individuals from entrepreneurs and their companies to scientists in Croatia and abroad, encouraging similar campaigns aimed at youth education and promoting science.
