South Korean executive contributes to expansion of Korea-Vietnam economy through investments, educational initiatives, and job creation.
Sanghyun Ahn, a seasoned CEO and director with over a decade of cross-border corporate leadership, has made significant strides in fostering economic growth and international collaboration between South Korea and Vietnam.
As Director of PLUS International Co Ltd, Ahn spearheaded the Overseas Business Team, overseeing a series of successful ventures that exceeded revenue goals and established long-term collaborations with top Vietnamese universities like FPT Polytechnic. These initiatives created new academic exchange programs and facilitated foreign direct investment, generating hundreds of jobs in both countries.
Ahn's work is recognised for its focus on human impact, with success measured by the number of jobs created, students given international opportunities, and strengthened communities through cross-border initiatives. His efforts in Vietnam earned him the International Achievement Award from Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Award for Job Creation from the Korea Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation in 2019.
Prior to his tenure at PLUS International Co Ltd, Ahn led five major companies across sectors from educational consulting to sustainable energy. Notably, as CEO of K&J Holdings Co Ltd, he partnered with Honeywell on green energy cost-saving projects for a major Korean university, a venture that reduced operational expenses and created skilled jobs in the emerging clean energy sector.
Ahn's commitment to sustainable development and transformative educational partnerships has been a constant throughout his career. He believes that building bridges between US industries and high-growth Asian markets can create measurable economic impact on both sides of the Pacific.
Looking ahead, Ahn plans to bring his cross-border business expertise to the United States. He aims to channel Asian investment into US markets, generate high-skilled jobs, and open new export opportunities for American companies in sustainable energy, consumer goods, and higher education.
In global business, Ahn measures success in terms of people, and his achievements in Korea and Vietnam stand as a testament to his dedication to fostering economic growth and international collaboration.
