Seasoned Professionals Join Whitman School with Specializations in Modern Business tactics
New Faculty Members Join Whitman School of Management
The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University has welcomed five new faculty members who bring a wealth of expertise in various research and teaching areas.
Hyoju Jeong is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship. Jeong earned her Ph.D. in business administration with a focus on entrepreneurship and strategy from the University of Minnesota. Her research investigates mission-driven entrepreneurship and community innovation, with a particular interest in how underserved communities, such as rural regions without internet access, organize cooperatives to meet critical needs.
Anywhere Sikochi is an Associate Professor of Accounting. Sikochi's research examines how access to capital influences community development and the reliability and divergence of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings. He is engaged in developing a credit-rating framework for small and medium-sized enterprises in Nigeria. At Whitman, Sikochi teaches financial statement analysis at the upper-division and graduate levels.
Furkan "Oz" Oztanriseven is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Business Analytics. Oztanriseven holds a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas and brings more than a decade of teaching and research excellence to Whitman. At the school, he is advancing coursework in prescriptive analytics, financial analytics, and machine learning.
Chi Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Marketing. Zhang received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. His current research investigates the digital artwork market, including how blockchain technologies and generative AI are transforming valuation and exchange. At Whitman, Zhang is teaching new product development.
Ian Rennie L'09 is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Law and Public Policy. Rennie, who earned his law degree from Syracuse University, has practiced trial litigation for 15 years and serves as town justice in DeWitt, N.Y. At Whitman, Rennie teaches Introduction to the Legal System and Commercial Transaction Law. He is also president of the Onondaga County Magistrate's Association and a board member of the Onondaga County Assigned Counsel program.
These new faculty members join a distinguished faculty at Whitman School of Management, each contributing their unique research and teaching perspectives to further the school's mission of preparing students for success in a rapidly changing global business environment.
