RRB Group D Exam Structure 2025: Examine Section-by-Section Details, Duration, and Scoring System
In a significant move to streamline the recruitment process, the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have updated the document verification process for RRB Group D candidates. The new process, implemented in 2022, considers performance in the Computer-Based Test (CBT), qualifying the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), merit, and preference of posts.
The RRB Group D CBT, scheduled for 2025, will consist of four main sections: Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness and Current Affairs. **General Intelligence and Reasoning** will cover analogies, alphabetical and number series, coding and decoding, mathematical operations, relationships, syllogism, jumbling, Venn diagram, data interpretation and sufficiency, conclusions and decision making, similarities and differences, classification, directions, statement and argument, statement and assumptions, statement and conclusions, and puzzles.
**General Science** will delve into physics, chemistry, and biology, covering basic laws and principles, motion and forces, light, heat, electricity, magnetism, elements, compounds, mixtures, acids, bases and salts, atomic structure, human body, plants, animals, diseases, nutrition, reproduction, and environment.
**General Awareness and Current Affairs** will encompass current affairs of national and international importance, Indian history and culture, Indian geography, Indian economy, general polity including Indian Constitution, environmental issues, scientific research and developments, and important organizations and their functioning.
The exam will consist of a total of 100 questions, each carrying one mark. A candidate will have 90 minutes to complete the test, with an additional 30 minutes for candidates with scribes. Negative marking of 1/3 mark will be applied for each wrong answer.
Successful candidates in the CBT will be shortlisted for the PET, followed by document verification, medical examination, and final shortlisting (empanelment). The PET requirements vary for male and female/transgender candidates, and candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks based on their category to qualify for the next stage.
Candidates must also pass colour vision, binocular, night, and mesopic vision tests for certain categories. The RRB Group D Medical Fitness Standards outline specific standards based on the post a candidate is selected for.
The RRB Group D exam aims to fill 1,03,769 vacancies for various Level 1 posts such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant, and Assistant Pointsman. Preparing with focus on these major topics will help candidates perform well in the upcoming 2025 exam.
