The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has announced a vacancy for a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position under the ICAR-funded Farmer FIRST Project at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi. The position is purely contractual and co-terminus with the project.

Qualifications

The essential qualification for the SRF position is a Master's degree in Agricultural/ Dairy/ Veterinary/ Fisheries Extension, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, or Horticulture. Candidates must also have 4 or 5 years of Bachelor's degree, depending on the specific position. For some positions, qualifications like M.Sc., MVSc, or MFSc are specified. A desirable qualification is the NET qualification. Research experience in relevant fields such as plant molecular biology or gene editing can also be advantageous.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for the SRF position is generally between 21 to 35 years, with relaxation for SC/ST/Women and OBC as per Government of India rules.

Candidates are required to provide documents such as a Master's degree certificate, NET certificate (if applicable), experience certificates, and any other relevant documents. The selection process typically involves a walk-in interview.

Interview Details

The interview for the SRF position will take place on 22nd July 2025. The venue for the interview is the Division of Agricultural Extension, ICAR-IARI, Pusa Campus, New Delhi - 110012. Candidates must report before 10:00 AM for document verification. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

Remuneration

The monthly remuneration for the first year of the SRF position is Rs. 37,000/- + HRA, and for the third year, it is Rs. 42,000/- + HRA.

Incomplete applications or those without the required documents will be rejected. All applicants must submit the declaration form, whether or not they have relatives in ICAR/IARI. There is no claim for regular appointment at ICAR-IARI for the SRF position. Adherence to ICAR-IARI's administrative and disciplinary rules is mandatory.
