Reflecting on that moment, I pondered, 'I could potentially blend a career in technology and maintain a sports career, much like Katie Taylor'.
PwC and Deloitte Graduate Shares Insights and Experiences
A 26-year-old graduate from Glanmire, Cork, who studied Digital Humanities & Information Technology with Spanish at University College Cork (UCC), has shared their experiences on the graduate programmes at PwC and Deloitte.
The interviewee became aware of PwC's graduate programme through a nine-month internship as part of their college course. They chose PwC because of its strong global reputation, structured internship programme, and inclusive culture.
Their work experience in the graduate programme has been positive, with a focus on graduate training and support. During their time, they have had a varied work experience, including meeting 100 new graduates, traveling to Belgium, working with SAP teams in various countries, and participating in training sessions and courses provided by Deloitte.
After the graduate programme, the interviewee plans to continue developing their skills in supply chain. They also plan to achieve their chartered accountant qualification and consider exploring different areas of financial services, such as consulting or advisory.
The interviewee's third-year work placement was with UCC Career Services as an IT support intern. However, the search results do not provide information about what the person from Kilkenny studied during their time at Trinity College Dublin.
The interviewee advises graduates applying to the programme to reach out and connect with people currently in the roles they're interested in, attend company talks, career fairs, and similar events, and not hesitate to connect on LinkedIn.
On the other hand, the interviewee was drawn to Deloitte because of the career opportunities they offered to students and their marketing campaign aimed at young people. They are currently working in the Asset and Wealth Management team within the Assurance department at PwC, Spencer Dock Dublin.
The interviewee enjoys Deloitte's sports and social clubs, playing in the tennis club, tag-rugby club, and running a book club in the Cork office. They also have volunteered with A Time To Talk, helping people arriving in Ireland from different countries who need help with language and careers.
A 23-year-old graduate from Kilkenny who studied Commerce at UCD in 2024, shared similar sentiments about their experience on the Deloitte Graduate Programme. They were offered a place on the programme after their summer internship. More details about their experiences and advice for future applicants will be shared in a separate article.
