Priority given by Health Partnership in Florida to Workforce Training in the Academic Sector
In the heart of Florida, the Hillsborough County Health Department is forging ahead with strategic partnerships to bolster public health initiatives. Two key figures behind this drive are Marie Flake, MPH, BSN, RN, and Pauline Rivers, PhD, the workforce director at the department.
One such partnership is with a local university, focused on evaluating performance using PHIG measures. This collaboration is not only about numbers, but also about making a tangible health impact. It's all about understanding the unique nature of each organization and working together to find solutions, even when the path may become complex and challenging.
The partnership is particularly concentrated on three PHIG measures related to hiring and retention: position filling, staff retention rate, and time to fill a position. By tracking these measures, the partnership contributes to the overall evaluation of the partnership and provides a process for quality improvement.
