When evaluating the kinship between the Dragon Prince and the T-Rex, the team led by Voris compiled an extensive dataset of roughly 370 skeletal features. While studying the fossil records, they uncovered striking similarities between the skeletons of young T-Rexes and the Dragon Prince. These findings propelled the researchers to deduce that the Dragon Prince was the direct ancestor of large theropods, like the awe-inspiring T-Rex.

The Dragon Prince's significance goes beyond forging a connection with the T-Rex. It appears to have served as a stepping stone for the development of other species as well. By delving into the relationships between archaeological specimens, Voris' team postulates that the Asian lineage of tyrannosaurs migrated to North America and gave rise to the eutyrannosaur family, which includes the T-Rex.

Studying the Dragon Prince offers valuable insights that shed light on the diversity and evolutionary pathways of dinosaurs during the middle Cretaceous period. Comparing the growth and body structure of the Dragon Prince to that of the T-Rex reveals diverging adaptive patterns.
