Let's dive into the nitty-gritty of Kazakhstan's Unified National Testing (ENTR) in 2025!

Over 399,000 applicants sought a spot in this examination, with about 75% expressing a preference for the Kazakh-language test, 25% for Russian, and a small bunch (266) for English. Applicants had the freedom to pick their own date, time, and location for the test.

On the first day of the ENTR, a whopping 4,589 candidates took the test across the nation, including 323 in the capital city. The testing took place in 46 different locations.

The ever-popular combination of subjects for several years has been Mathematics-Physics, chosen by 16.5% of applicants. Close behind are Biology-Chemistry (15.6%), targeted at future medical professionals, and Mathematics-Informatics (9.7%), appealing to IT enthusiasts.

The exam consists of three mandatory and two elective subjects. The testing period lasts 4 hours (240 minutes), with an extra 40 minutes given to those with special educational needs. To maintain academic honesty, each ENTR participant receives an individually tailored test version. A calculator, the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, and a solubility table are available during the test.

In case of disputes regarding test questions, appeals can be filed within 30 minutes following the test, while technical appeals can be submitted during the test. Once the appeal is reviewed, the results certificate will be available in the applicant's personal account.

The minimum threshold scores required for admission to various fields remain the same. For Law and Pedagogical Sciences, a score of 75 points is necessary. A minimum of 70 points is needed for Healthcare and Social Security (Medicine), and 65 points for national universities. For other universities, the threshold score is 50 points.

To ensure security and curb any dishonest practices, handheld and frame metal detectors will be used at testing sites, preventing entry of unauthorized items such as phones, cheat sheets, and the like. Additionally, signal jammers for mobile and radio electronic communication, alongside video surveillance, will be employed during the tests.

After the completion of ENF-2025 by 31 October, an analysis of the video recordings will be conducted. In case of detecting the use of prohibited items or violations of rules, the applicant's ENTR results will be invalidated.

It's essential to note that the given threshold scores are estimates for ENTR admissions in Kazakhstan. For specific requirements tailored to different fields, it's advisable to consult official educational institutions or the Ministry of Education in Kazakhstan.

Cool bonus fact: The last graduation ceremony for 11th graders in Kazakhstan has been rescheduled, with graduations taking place on either 23 or 24 May, following the school administration's decision since the official end of the academic year in 2025 falls on a Sunday [source].
