In the heart of Lackford, a dedicated individual named Lucy Wood is making a significant impact with the Wild Babies Group. Her role has been met with high praise from staff and volunteers, who describe her as exceptional in her respective roles.

Lucy's journey began with meet and greets at the Suffolk Wildlife Trust head office, and it has been a whirlwind of learning ever since. During her forest school training, she honed skills such as making fires, whittling wood, plant identification, and outdoor cooking. These skills, combined with her passion for the outdoors, have equipped her to lead engaging and educational experiences.

Lucy believes that getting children outside and immersed in nature is crucial for fostering respect and understanding for the natural world. This belief is evident in her work, as she leads various activities aimed at educating and engaging young minds. One such activity was the recent beaver group pond dipping session at Lackford, where she worked alongside volunteer Roger.

The site at Lackford has been a hub of activity, with visitors from various locations, including Kings Lynn, Derbyshire, and Chelmsford, flocking to witness the educational and conservation efforts. The staff and volunteers at the site are known for their wealth of knowledge, making visitors feel right at home and ensuring they have a fabulous experience.

Lucy has been enjoying her time at Lackford immensely. She led the weekend wildlife group at Lackford's spring discovery day and plans to continue making a difference in the coming months. Her experience extends beyond the site, as she has a large garden filled with various creatures, and she attended a training day at Redgrave & Lopham Fen.

Lucy feels privileged to have this opportunity and is grateful for the support and guidance she has received from the Wild Babies Group at Lackford. Her dedication and passion for outdoor education and wildlife conservation are evident in her work, making her an invaluable asset to the team.

Lucy's pursuit of an outdoor-living lifestyle led her to join the Wild Babies Group at Lackford, where she has demonstrated exceptional dedication and proficiency in forest school education and self-development. To further her home-and-garden endeavors and expand her knowledge in education and lifelong learning, she attended a training day at Redgrave & Lopham Fen. Lucy's lifestyle cultivates a deep appreciation for the natural world, fostering not only her own learning but also the learning and development of the children she engages through her forest school and other activities, creating a synergy between home-and-garden and education-and-self-development.
