Newport Catholic Receives $10K Grant for Robotics Program

Northern Kentucky's Newport Central Catholic High School has received a $10,000 grant from the Northern Kentucky Chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE-NKY) for a robotics program. This is the third year of funding under Caleb Claxton's presidency, with NSPE-NKY annually supporting STEM initiatives in Northern Kentucky schools.

Principal Kenny Collopy expressed gratitude for NSPE-NKY's support in establishing the robotics program. The program will be housed in the newly renovated Science Learning Center, which opened in January 2024. This center offers six learning environments and a college-like atmosphere with views of the Ohio River Valley. Beechwood and Erlanger school districts also received funding from NSPE-NKY this year, indicating a broader commitment to STEM education in the region.

The robotics program at Newport Central Catholic High School is set to enhance STEM initiatives and student learning experiences. With NSPE-NKY's continued support, the program aims to foster innovation and interest in engineering among students.
