NeckarPark unveils for public entrance

The Bildungshaus NeckarPark (BiNe), a new educational hub in the heart of Stuttgart, is set to begin its programme on September 22. This innovative learning space, designed by Glück + Partner, is a central and important element at the heart of the new city quarter 'NeckarPark'.

The BiNe is a unique project, integrating an all-day elementary school, a children's and family centre, and the VHS Stuttgart under one roof. This pedagogical concept promotes lifelong and intergenerational learning, fostering a vibrant and diverse learning community.

The VHS Stuttgart, the largest public adult education institution in Baden-Württemberg, offers over 5,000 courses and further education opportunities each year. At the BiNe, you'll find a modern room concept with flexible event halls, seminar, IT, and multi-purpose rooms, ateliers, movement rooms, a kitchen studio, and panoramic views.

In addition to its courses, the VHS Stuttgart's programme in BiNe includes cultural events, film festivals, exhibitions, readings, and conferences. Upcoming events include 'Sing Out for the Soul' with Patrick Bopp, 'Health Action Day' in cooperation with AOK Stuttgart-Böblingen, 'Politics for the Region', and 'BiNe Company Day' with coach Lutz Herkenrath.

The BiNe is the first public wooden hybrid building of this size in the city, featuring sustainable wooden hybrid construction on its upper floors. The facade is made of oak, combined with distinctive greenery in planters with stainless steel cables.

The BiNe also boasts an inner courtyard, roof areas with a ball playing field, a school garden, 168 bicycle and 36 scooter parking spaces, and a public underground garage with electric charging stations.

On October 18th, the BiNe will hold an open house event from 2 pm to 8 pm, inviting visitors to explore the building, participate in free VHS trial offers, attend creative workshops, and more. The official inauguration ceremony will take place on November 7th, with a ceremonial program, speeches from representatives, a joint discussion round, and guided tours of the education house.

The VHS Stuttgart sees itself as an open meeting point and learning space for everyone, both in the city and in the districts. The partners involved in the planning and construction of BiNe include Wolff & Müller, Glück + Partner, Pfrommer + Roeder, and other specialist planning offices. The NeckarPark Education House (BiNe) project was realized under the leadership of the city of Stuttgart, with a total budget of 93.6 million euros.

The future users were involved in the planning process of BiNe, ensuring that the needs of the community are met in this new learning hub. The BiNe is more than just a building; it's a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to education and lifelong learning.
