Music instructor Yilin Han now leads the accordion class at the Herdecke City Music School.
New Accordion Teacher at Municipal Music School Herdecke: Yilin Han
Yilin Han, a renowned accordionist, has joined the Municipal Music School Herdecke as a teacher, starting from September 1, 2023. Born in China, Han's musical journey began at the tender age of four.
Han's impressive career spans across various prestigious venues in Austria. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed in the Musikverein Wien, Wiener Konzerthaus, Wiener Staatsoper, and Wiener Volksoper. Her talent and skill have earned her numerous accolades.
One of her significant achievements was winning the Grand Prix at the 55th International Classical Accordion Competition in Klingenthal in 2018. In the same year, she was also awarded the first prize of the Hummingbird Music Award in China. More recently, Han received the third prize of the XXVIII 'Arrasate Hiria' Accordion Competition in Spain (2021).
In 2024, Han was supported by both the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation and the Manfred and Ursula Müller Foundation. She also passed the concert exam of the excellence program at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen that same year.
Han continued her studies as a master's student at the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna from 2020 to 2023. Her dedication to her craft is evident in her continuous pursuit of knowledge and skill.
