MIT and the Foundation partner to kick off RIDE 2025 bootcamp, aiming to educate 7,500 students.
MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) has announced the launch of Ignite Bootcamp: RIDE 2025, a credited course designed to equip students with practical skills and innovation. The initiative, led by Dr. Rahul Karad, will train over 7,500 second-year undergraduate students across 30 departments in 12 schools of MIT-WPU.
The program, powered by the Foundation's Ignite program, combines practical guidance and assessment to nurture the next generation of business leaders. It is essential for creating a pipeline of qualified innovators ready to tackle the growing market challenges and opportunities.
As part of MIT-WPU's ongoing commitment to enhance practical learning experiences, the bootcamp will offer students hands-on skills, foster entrepreneurial thinking, and bridge academic knowledge with real-world applications. The goal is to create over 1,500 student-led startups.
MIT-WPU will lead the initiative to select startups, provide initial funding of ₹ 1 lakh to the top 10 for prototype development, and offer incubation and acceleration support. The top three startups will be live-pitched for additional funding, incubation, prizes, and trophies.
The Start-up Expo 2025 (11-14 August) will be the culmination of the program, where the top 150 startups will be presented. The bootcamp was launched at MIT-WPU's RIDE 2025 event, which focuses on Research, Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship.
The program reflects the Foundation's commitment to providing students with real-world entrepreneurship experiences. Rajeev Warrier, Executive Vice President of Entrepreneurship at the Foundation, stated, "The partnership with Dr. Vishwanath Karad of MIT World Peace University to launch Ignite Bootcamp: RIDE 2025 is a testament to our shared vision of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students."
The bootcamp is part of India's increasing prioritization of entrepreneurship as a catalyst for economic development. It aims to shape confident and creative problem-solvers ready to lead in a rapidly changing world. The bootcamp is offered at no cost to the university.
