Here's the lowdown:In a survey conducted by the University of Bielefeld in late 2023, it was revealed that the vast majority of mothers (82 percent) and a hefty chunk of dads (nearly 70 percent) believe retirees in Germany aren't financially secure enough in their golden years. Interestingly, more than six out of ten mothers (60 percent) think men and women are unequally treated in Germany, while only a quarter (27 percent) of dads share this view.
Now, here's where it gets interesting. When it comes to assuming the poor in Germany are being adequately assisted, 54 percent of moms think otherwise, compared to 39 percent of dads.
Single parents and those in partnerships also look at the world through different lenses. For example, a whopping 84 percent of single parents view the opportunities for kiddos negatively, as opposed to 68 percent of partnered respondents. Single parents are also more likely to critically assess the security for retirees (90 percent versus 76 percent of partnered parents).
Approximately 1230 mothers and fathers, 660 children, and 570 adolescents participated in the online survey, which swept across Germany.
