Maharashtra Government and the Art of Living collaborate to revolutionize 150 public schools through the SSRDP initiative
In an exciting development, the Maharashtra Government has joined forces with The Art of Living's Sri Sri Rural Development Programme (SSRDP) to transform 150 government-aided schools across the state. The goal is to create vibrant, inspiring learning environments that foster academic, emotional, digital, and moral intelligence in students.
This collaboration, formalised via a Memorandum of Understanding signed in August 2025, represents a comprehensive effort to enhance educational quality and holistic development in government schools.
Key interventions include: - Enhancing digital infrastructure with smart classrooms and computer labs - Establishing STEM and science labs for hands-on innovation - Conducting structured teacher training on modern pedagogy - Providing wellbeing programs such as yoga, meditation, and emotional resilience sessions - Renovating classrooms, libraries, and sanitation facilities - Installing solar power units for uninterrupted electricity - Promoting creative and sports-based development activities - Creating vibrant, inspiring school spaces with murals and learning corners
