JLU & PPMH Form 'Alliance for Democracy' to Strengthen Historical-Political Education

Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (JLU) and the Police Headquarters of Central Hesse (PPMH) have joined forces in the 'Alliance for Democracy'. This significant cooperation aims to promote democratic values and strengthen historical-political education.

The Working Group on Holocaust Literature at JLU, led by a female university professor, will collaborate with PPMH to foster mutual learning. The cooperation includes annual excursions to Łódź and the Auschwitz Memorial, as well as exchanges of interns and employees. Both partners will organize discussions with eyewitnesses, workshops, and public lectures.

Police Commissioner Benjamin Schneider is the contact person for the PPMH in this cooperation. The alliance aims to take responsibility for democracy, respect, and every individual protected. Interdisciplinary lectures on democratic education, remembrance culture, and human rights are also planned.

The 'Alliance for Democracy' between JLU and PPMH is a step towards open dialogue and exchange. It is expected to enhance understanding and appreciation of democratic values and historical-political education among students, staff, and police personnel.
