HOLT Truck Centers Donates Five Heavy-Duty Trucks to Oklahoma Schools to Boost Diesel Technician Training

HOLT Truck Centers has donated five heavy-duty trucks to three Oklahoma schools to boost diesel technician training, aiming to address the growing technician shortage and ensure students graduate job-ready with minimal student loans. The donation includes trucks weighing over 50,000 pounds and equipped with advanced systems, enhancing hands-on learning in the diesel industry. They will be distributed across Francis Tuttle Technology Center, Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, and Tulsa Tech, with two trucks each going to the first two institutions and one to the latter. HOLT Truck Centers, the authorized International and Idealease dealer in Oklahoma, North Texas, and East Texas, made the donation to support students and empower communities, reflecting their commitment to closing the talent gap in skilled trades and reducing the need for student loans. The donation comes at a critical time, as the TechForce Foundation's 2024 Technician Supply and Demand Report projects a need for over 249,000 new techs by 2028 to meet demand, helping to bridge the gap between theory and practice and preparing students for successful careers in the diesel industry with reduced reliance on student loans.
