GSMA MWC25 Resumes in Kigali, Emphasizing Africa's Digital Progression and Innovative Ministerial Agenda

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is set to return to Africa with MWC25 Kigali, the largest and most influential connectivity event on the continent. Hosted by the GSMA in partnership with the Ministry of ICT & Innovation of Rwanda, the event will take place from 21-23 October.

MWC25 Kigali aims to foster cross-border collaboration, investment, and policy dialogue, with a focus on key themes including Intelligent Infrastructure, ConnectAI, AI for Enterprise, and AI Nexus. These themes explore cutting-edge developments such as next-generation networks, AI-powered automation, quantum-ready data centers, AI-driven operations, and the rise of AI-native telcos that will transform digital infrastructure and services.

The event's show floor will feature exhibitors, sponsors, and partners such as AXIAN Telecom, Ethiotel, Huawei, Meta, MTN, Orange, TerraPay, Telcoi, and ZTE. Additionally, MWC25 Kigali will include summits on Connected Industries discussing smart manufacturing with 5G, fintech and mobile commerce for financial inclusion, smart mobility innovations, and enhanced fan experiences in sports and entertainment.

The GSMA Ministerial Programme, a flagship programme from MWC Barcelona, will also be a significant part of MWC25 Kigali. This programme highlights leadership and policy dialogues around digital transformation, intelligent infrastructure, and inclusive innovation, bringing together government ministers and industry leaders to shape the future digital economy. The Ministerial Programme will discuss and shape Africa's digital future, with a focus on initiatives like AI integration in networks and public-private partnerships.

Confirmed keynote speakers for MWC25 Kigali include Airtel's CEO, Sunil Taldar, AXIAN Telecom's CEO, Hassan Jaber, Ethiotel's CEO, Frehiwot Tamiru, MTN's CEO, Ralph Mupita, Orange's EVP & CEO, Middle East and Africa, Yasser Shaker, and Rwanda's Minister of ICT and Innovation, Hon. Mrs. Paula Ingabire. More speaker confirmations are expected to come.
