Greta Thunberg-Led Flotilla En Route to Gaza as Israel Vows to Stop 'PR Action'

A fleet of 47 ships, the Global Sumud Flotilla, is en route to Gaza with over 500 activists, including renowned figures like Greta Thunberg. The mission aims to deliver aid to the Gaza population. Israel, however, has vowed to stop the flotilla, deeming it a 'PR action'.

Among the activists is Greta Thunberg, the climate activist, who is reported to be safe. The flotilla consists of 47 ships, carrying aid for Gaza's residents. Israeli forces have intercepted several vessels, boarding them and ending live streams. Activists have reported throwing their phones into the sea.

Israel's UN ambassador, Danny Danon, has described the flotilla as a 'PR action' and vowed to prevent its entry into what Israel considers an active war zone. Israel has also accused some activists of having ties to Hamas and rejected their aid offer, calling it a 'provocation'.

Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has assured that no violence will be used against activists and that Italian citizens will be brought to an Israeli port. France has called on Israel to ensure the safety of participants and provide consular protection. The flotilla, however, rejects Israel's offer to deliver aid at ports outside Gaza, insisting that humanitarian aid should not be left to the occupying power.

The Global Sumud Flotilla's journey to Gaza remains uncertain as Israel continues its interception efforts. The fate of the activists, including Greta Thunberg, is being closely watched. The flotilla's rejection of Israel's aid offer outside Gaza adds another layer of complexity to the situation.
