There are group of people holding placards and walking. These are the trees. I can see small bushes. This is the banner. I can see a building with name boards attached to it. These look like cars. I think these are the current polls.

Greifswald Future Council Overwhelmed by 170 Applicants

The Greifswald Future Council, a new initiative to engage residents in city development, has received an overwhelming response. Over 170 people applied, with a diverse group representing all city districts and a balanced gender ratio of 52% women and 48% men. The response rate of 9% surpassed expectations.

The project is led by Prof. Dr. Thomas Wischnewski and will finalise its composition by the end of October 2025. Due to the high number of acceptances, a second draw will be held to select the final 60 participants, who will serve until 2028. Substitutes will be determined to cover any changes during the three and a half year term.

The applicants were diverse in age, with 18% aged 16-30, 62% aged 30-65, and 20% aged 65 and above. The initiative is funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation, the federal program 'Democracy lives!', and the Vorpommern Fund.

The Greifswald Future Council, with its diverse and engaged participants, is set to play a significant role in shaping the city's future. The high response rate and the need for a second draw indicate strong public interest in the project.
