Graduates from the July/August 2022 career program announced
At a recent graduation ceremony, a group of talented individuals celebrated their accomplishments as they completed various vocational certificate programmes at Midwest Technical Institute (MTI). Among the graduates were Jeanne Gonzalez, Katerina Tsantili, Melissa Antonowich, Danielle Ford, Jerald Troutman, Sadie Rabago, Ying Liu, and Berlyn Holman.
Each graduate has successfully completed their respective programmes in Digital Arts, Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Marketing Design, and Fine Arts. These programmes are designed to provide hands-on, career-focused training in several fields, preparing students for entry-level employment.
As the graduates stepped onto the stage to receive their certificates, they were met with warm congratulations and words of encouragement. C.S. Lewis's quote, "There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind," was shared, serving as an inspirational and motivational message for the graduates. The sentiment was one of optimism and excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead in their creative careers.
The graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone in the graduates' lives, signifying their transition into their chosen creative careers. MTI's vocational certificate programmes offer practical training in numerous trades, with clear campus offerings and structured scheduling. The school provides adequate classroom and lab space, computer labs with Chromebooks, and printing facilities to support student learning.
Admissions for these career programmes typically require proof of related experience or coursework, documentation of certifications, letters of recommendation, and may include entrance exams or minimum GPA requirements depending on the programme. For example, selective admissions for emergency medical technician and paramedic programmes require specific course grades, state certification, experience documentation, and completion of an entrance exam.
Other institutions offer vocational or certificate programmes in specialized fields such as drug discovery and development, education, human and social sciences, IT, and more, with various online and on-campus delivery formats, deadlines, and admission criteria. For example, the University of North Texas Health Science Center offers a Certificate in Drug Discovery and Development for qualified undergraduates or graduate students in life sciences, with applications accepted through mid-July 2025. The University of Wisconsin-Stout provides multiple certificates and certifications related to education, social sciences, and technical fields, some of which are available online and can be taken alongside degree programmes.
As the graduates embark on their creative careers, they are wished every success. The vocational certificate programmes at MTI, along with other institutions, provide comprehensive resources to facilitate students' vocational education and career training. The most recent information and program details are contained in MTI’s 2025 catalog and the other institutions' websites.
