According to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, QS World University Rankings 2026, and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) where applicable, the following German universities stand out as the top 25 for 2025:
Technical University of Munich (TUM)
Consistently Germany's top university, TUM ranked 22nd in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and 26th in the Times Higher Education ranking 2025. TUM is among the top 10 universities in the world outside of the US, according to the Times Higher Education ranking.
