Folkwang Music School Unveils 'Gertrud Osthaus' Children's Book on Oct 7
The Folkwang Music School Essen is set to unveil a captivating children's book, 'Gertrud Osthaus: The Princess of Hohenhof', on October 7th at 5 PM. This project, funded by KiKuMu - Ulrike Nitschmann Foundation, Alfried Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach Foundation, and supported by the association of friends and supporters of the Folkwang Music School Essen e.V., aims to illustrate Gertrud Osthaus' significance in the school's history.
The book, a labour of love by the school, features 60 unique illustrations created by 24 talented children. Each motif is a testament to the young artists' creativity and understanding of Gertrud Osthaus' legacy. The book masterfully blends fictional scenes with real-life events, providing a engaging narrative for young readers.
To enhance the storytelling experience, the book includes short texts that offer background knowledge about Gertrud Osthaus and her impact on Folkwang. This interactive approach makes the book both entertaining and educational.
