Durham & Zaporizhzhia Universities Strengthen Ties with New Initiatives
Durham University and Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU) have strengthened their academic ties with a series of collaborative initiatives. A delegation of ZNU staff recently visited Durham to share best practices and explore new avenues for cooperation, particularly in energy, student wellbeing, and internationalisation.
The partnership bore fruit this summer when Durham hosted over 40 ZNU visitors for joint research projects and best practice sharing. Additionally, the universities' law schools have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, aiming to bolster their collaboration.
Looking ahead, ten ZNU students will embark on a study programme at Durham University from autumn 2023, further enriching the twinning partnership. Both institutions have identified shared research interests in memory politics, post-conflict urban renewal, mental health, legal aspects of conflict, global justice, and internal displacement.
These initiatives underscore the commitment of both universities to fostering international academic cooperation. The ongoing dialogue and collaboration are set to benefit students and researchers alike, driving progress in key areas of mutual interest.
