Dresden Launches ExciteLab to Boost High-Tech Innovation and Attract Global Talent

Dresden, a leading high-tech hub, is set to launch ExciteLab, a collaborative initiative between Leipzig SpinLab and Technical University of Dresden, aimed at fostering innovation and attracting international talent and investors. The University of Augsburg, in partnership with the Helmholtz Center Munich, is spearheading this significant milestone for the region's economic development.

ExciteLab, launching in October 2024, will offer a six-month accelerator program for high-tech startups. This program includes mentoring, networking opportunities, pilot projects, event participation, and a minimum funding of 6,000 euros. The initiative focuses on key technologies such as the Internet of Things, semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing, aligning with Dresden's strengths and driving regional competitiveness.

ExciteLab is part of TUD|excite, the excellence center for innovation, transfer, and entrepreneurship at TU Dresden. It is supported by leading companies like Infineon, Mazars, and ZEISS, reflecting the region's robust high-tech industry. Dresden's status as a nationwide hotspot for high-tech, with recent entries and expansions by major companies like Infineon, TSMC, and Jenoptik, further underscores the potential of ExciteLab.

ExciteLab, with its comprehensive support system and focus on cutting-edge technologies, is poised to promote Dresden as a global innovation hub. By attracting international talent and investors, it aims to strengthen the region's high-tech industry and foster economic growth.
