Customs Officials in Nigeria to Conduct Preliminary Examination for Applicants Aspiring for Superintendent Ranks

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a Pre-Test exercise for the Superintendent cadre recruitment, scheduled for Monday, September 22, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. This announcement was made last Wednesday by the National Public Relations Officer of the NCS, Abdullahi Maiwada.

All applicants who have been shortlisted for the Superintendent cadre have been notified about the Pre-Test exercise. The recruitment process for the Nigeria Customs Service is ongoing and being conducted nationwide for various cadres within the service.

The Pre-Test is an opportunity for applicants to become familiar with the system that will be used for the main Computer-Based Test. Upon signing in, candidates will be required to complete facial verification and carefully read instructions 30 minutes before the Pre-Test commencement. Candidates must click on the START button to commence the Pre-Test after the 30 minutes allocated for log-in procedures.

The Pre-Test notification was released on the Nigeria Customs Service's official X handle on Thursday. The Nigeria Customs Service will send a dedicated link to all shortlisted candidates to complete their log-in procedures.

The additional Computer-Based Test for the Superintendent Cadre is part of the ongoing recruitment process for the Nigeria Customs Service. The recruitment exercise for the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres will be conducted subsequently. Candidates are urged to strictly adhere to the guidelines during the recruitment process.

The Pre-Test is meant to help applicants familiarize themselves with the platform before the main Computer-Based Test. However, the Nigeria Customs Service did not specify a date for the additional Computer-Based Test for the Superintendent Cadre in the statement.

All invited applicants of the Superintendent cadre have been notified about the Pre-Test exercise. The Pre-Test is only for applicants of the Superintendent cadre, Inspectorate and Assistant cadres will be contacted subsequently for their Pre-Test exercise.

The Nigeria Customs Service has shortlisted 286,697 applicants for a computer-based test for 3,927 advertised vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres. The service encourages all candidates to prepare diligently for the Pre-Test and the subsequent Computer-Based Test to increase their chances of being selected.
