Park University is gearing up for an exciting 2024-25 season, filled with a variety of events and recognitions.

The International Center for Music at Park University will collaborate with Overland Park, Kan.-based NAVO Arts to kick off its 2024-25 season with a concert. This promises to be a musical extravaganza not to be missed.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, the Park University Alumni Association has announced the honourees for its four annual awards. Ricky Godbolt, '93, Ed.D., will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award. John Hamilton, Ph.D., professor emeritus of criminal justice administration, will be honoured with the University's Paul H. Gault Service Award. Master Sgt. Corey Holt, '19, MPA '22, will receive the Park Promising Young Professional Award. Jack Satter, '71, and Tom Peterman, Ph.D., will also receive the Marlowe Sherwood Memorial Service Award and the Torchlighter Award, respectively.

Cassie Werle, assistant teaching professor of nursing, has earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Regis College in Massachusetts. This impressive achievement further cements her position as a leader in the field of nursing.

Tim Westcott, Ph.D., professor of history, director of the George S. Robb Centre for the Study of the Great War, and associate university archivist, has authored an article titled "A Stranger in my Own Land" that was published in a recent issue of MOHumanities.

Park University has been named to Money magazine's "Best Colleges for Online Bachelor's Degree Programs." The University was ranked #12 in the list of "Best Colleges for Online Bachelor's Degree Programs in Criminal Justice" for 2024. This ranking is based on the number of graduates, tuition, salary, and recommendations.

In sports news, Martha Linscott, Park University Parkville (Mo.) Campus men's and women's golf head coach, competed in the 2024 U.S. Senior Women's Open, but missed the cut by two strokes. The women's volleyball program began the 2024 season as the No. 8 team in the country.

The Campanella Gallery at Park University has opened its 2024-25 season with an exhibit of illustrations and paintings by Cody Page. Ilya Shmukler, a graduate student at the International Center for Music, will perform a concert on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The summer/fall 2024 issue of The Archives magazine has been published. Niche ranked the University No. 100 on its 2024 "Safest College Campuses in America" list and No. 1 on the "Safest College Campuses in Missouri" list. Park University is the only college/university in the Kansas City region on this list. The University ranked 18th on estimated annual price and 20th on average early career salaries in the list.

Finally, the 2024 Park University Golf Scramble, a four-person tournament that benefits the University's Parkville Campus athletics programs, is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 14.
