Contribution from Harburger Hallencup rounds up to €9,185 for Nymphenweg School
In the heart of Harburg, the annual football charity tournament, the Harburg Indoor Cup, successfully concluded its 38th edition, raising a grand total of €11,185. The organisers, a dedicated team of six men, including Manfred von Soosten, were particularly pleased with the numerous individual donations, even ones from children.
The recipient of this year's donation was the Nymphenweg School, a special school with three locations, which serves 140 children from the first to the 12th grade. On Thursday, the organisers paid a visit to the school to present a donation of €9,185, with the remaining €2,000 earmarked for other local institutions in Marmstorf.
Barbara Stegert, the headmistress of the Nymphenweg School, expressed her gratitude for the donation. She plans to use the funds to purchase table football and Dino-Cars for children at all three school locations. Annet Holst, a representative from the school association, shared her excitement about the upcoming acquisitions.
The Harburg Indoor Cup, known as Harburg's largest football charity tournament, has been a significant event in the community for many years. The donation money alternates between three institutions in Marmstorf each year. For several years, the DRK Hospice in Langebek has been one of the recipients of a donation of €2,000 from the Harburg Indoor Cup.
Looking ahead, the organisers of the 39th Harburg Indoor Cup, the Gewerbeverein (trade association) and the Kulturkreis (cultural circle), are already preparing for next year's event. They have taken on the responsibility of organising the tournament on a voluntary basis.
Birgit Stoever, the patron of the tournament, was unable to attend the handover this year, but her spirit was undoubtedly present in the spirit of the event. The Harburg Indoor Cup continues to make a significant impact in the community, bringing together football enthusiasts and supporters to raise funds for worthy causes.
