Head of Yakutia Emphasizes Importance of Strengthening DOSAAF and Patriotic Education

Aisen Nikolaev, the head of Yakutia, has reiterated the need for active development and strengthening of the DOSAAF (All-Russia Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation, and Shipbuilding) in the region.

In a meeting at the Coordinating Council on Patriotic Education, Nikolaev stressed that Patriotic Education is the foundation of citizenship and the future of the country. He emphasized that DOSAAF should contribute to the Armed Forces of the country, strengthen the defense capability, and ensure the national security of the state.

Nikolaev did not mention any specific projects or programs in his statement, but he did express a desire to make DOSAAF in Yakutia exactly what it was created for. He also announced the increase in the number of military registration specialties mastered by cadets in January 2023.

Since 2022, 766 education counselors have been working in 598 educational institutions in Yakutia. These counselors are instrumental in providing guidance and support for various projects offered by organizations like "Movement of the Firsts," "Vanguard," "Young Army," the "VOIN" Center, and others. Through these projects, young people in Yakutia can develop skills, realize their creative and personal potential, and build a foundation for a successful future.

Nikolaev also highlighted the importance of covering children and youth with patriotic education. He gave instructions to strengthen the work in this area, focusing on the organization of patriotic education in the region, joint work with DOSAAF, and the effectiveness of measures to involve minors in patriotic organizations.

In the context of the national goals of Russia's development, the head of state has tasked increasing to at least 75% the proportion of young people participating in projects and programs aimed at professional, personal development, and patriotic education by 2030. Nikolaev supports several proposals from the DOSAAF leadership, including increasing the number of military-register specialties mastered by cadets.

However, Nikolaev did not specify a timeline for the strengthening of DOSAAF and patriotic education in Yakutia, nor did he mention any penalties or consequences for failing to meet the 75% participation goal by 2030. The head of Yakutia also did not specify how the proportion of young people participating in patriotic education will be measured.

In Yakutia, there are currently 11,824 military-patriotic clubs, 11,075 Young Army detachments, 539 search detachments, 258 cadet classes, and 134 Cossack associations. These organisations play a crucial role in promoting patriotism and military education among the youth of the region.

The meeting at the Coordinating Council on Patriotic Education was focused on organising patriotic education in the region, joint work with DOSAAF, and the effectiveness of measures to involve minors in patriotic organisations. The council will continue to work towards achieving the goals set by the head of state and the head of Yakutia.
