China, once a recipient of clean technology, now stands as a global leader, exporting solar and wind energy solutions, electric batteries, and vehicles. Its companies, like Shanghai Mufan and Shanghai Electric, pioneer innovative technologies, seeking markets abroad. However, the transfer of technology and knowledge remains a contentious issue, with Global South nations pushing for deeper cooperation.

China's rise in clean technology is evident. It has benefited from past collaborations, such as BMW's partnership with CATL, which propelled the latter to become the world's largest battery manufacturer. Today, China fuels its expansion in solar, wind, EVs, and batteries, with companies like Shanghai Mufan and Shanghai Electric leading the way. These firms express interest in driving global clean technology adoption in emerging markets.

The Global South, accounting for nearly half of China's clean technology imports in 2024, seeks more than just commercial ties. It wants true technological cooperation. China, in response, has promised to expand initiatives for knowledge transfer at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in Tianjin. Many Chinese companies now seek new markets abroad for these technologies.

China's clean technology production has fueled its expansion globally, with companies like Shanghai Mufan and Shanghai Electric at the forefront. The Global South, a significant market, wants deeper cooperation, and China has promised to expand initiatives for knowledge transfer.
