Preparing for the New Academic Year: The "Other Thing" Project on the Presidential Platform
The "Other Thing" project, part of the presidential platform "Russia - the Country of Opportunities," is launching a special project for Knowledge Day. This initiative aims to help schoolchildren and students in the Nizhny Novgorod region prepare for the new academic year.
With over 600 partners, including ministries, non-profit organizations, and large companies such as AO "Rosselkhozbank," the Roscongress Foundation, Roscosmos, Sber, "MyOffice," DOM.RF, "Norilsk Nickel," "Sibur," "Honest Sign," "I am a Professional," VK, and others, the project offers a wide range of opportunities.
Participants can earn points for their personal activity in education, sports, environmental projects, volunteering, creativity, mentoring, and other areas. These points can be exchanged for bonuses such as professional internships, travel, educational courses, online subscriptions, partner gifts, and more.
New tasks in the service will appear daily until September 15. Students can learn how to reflect their summer jobs and projects in their resumes or go through a mock interview. The project also provides IT profession test-drives and opportunities to explore railway transport professions. Schoolchildren can immerse themselves in microbiology, neural networks, space, physics, and chemistry, and participate in quizzes and knowledge tests.
Anyone can participate in the special project. Participants can win prizes such as student ID covers, eco-friendly thermo mugs, t-shirts, hoodies, and more. Adults can also acquire new skills or explore professions in IT, industry, culture, or other fields.
The project offers useful tests like "Is it time for you to take a vacation?", "Assess your physical activity", and "How close are you to burnout?". Other special projects for Knowledge Day are proposed by the organizers of the presidential platform "Russia - Country of Opportunities," including "Profrarazvitie," "Flagships of Education," "My Profession - IT," the All-Russian Student Project "Your Move," the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the All-Russian Children and Youth Movement "First Movement," the Russian Student Brigades, the "Pushkin Card" program, the "Scientific and Educational Policy" portal, and leading online schools.
The "Other Thing" project, implemented on the basis of the social network "VKontakte," has attracted over 7 million participants from 89 regions of Russia. The project's objective is to help young people adapt to changes, create their own future, and move the country forward, as stated by Gennady Guryanov, the first deputy general director of the presidential platform "Russia - the Country of Opportunities."
These efforts align with the platform’s broader goal of nurturing opportunity and growth for the country’s youth by enhancing educational quality and accessibility, creating a foundation for future success in education and work. The projects aim to modernize educational facilities, increase mentorship and vocational training, and support youth development in a well-equipped and professionally managed learning environment nationwide starting September 1. These are concrete steps toward realizing the platform’s objectives of expanding opportunities for Russia’s young generation.
