Gemma Atkinson: Fitness, Health, and Beauty Influencer

Actress-turned-fitness-influencer Gemma Atkinson is in the best shape of her life after recovering from two C-sections. At 41 years old, she has no plans to age gracefully.

Atkinson, who met her fiancé Gorka Marquez on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, has always been passionate about health and fitness. She started strength training in her mid-20s and can impressively lift 110kg on hip thrusts and 90kg on back squats.

Atkinson's approach to fitness has changed as she's got older; these days it's no longer about looking good, but working out for longevity. She uses a Whoop fitness tracker, a wrist health tracker that gives the wearer a 'Whoop age', score based on nine biometrics including sleep, resting heart rate, and steps. She also uses the Gowod personalised mobility program app for stretching.

Atkinson's diet is high in protein, often starting her day with a cheese omelette and kefir. She's a 'flexitarian' and rarely eats meat. During her pregnancies, she juiced a whole cucumber and half an apple to help with water retention. She also supplemented her nutrition with Juicemaster Delivered 3-Day Juice Cleanse while breastfeeding.

Atkinson is conscious of future-proofing her health for perimenopause. She recently took a DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) test for perimenopause prep. She's aware that her menopause experience could go either way, but she's not afraid. She views it as a natural part of life.

Atkinson's new beauty venture is called Gem & Tonic, a fuss-free skincare brand designed for busy, active women. She uses crystals, such as rose quartz, for grounding and relaxation. She also takes Ape Nutrition Grass-free Beef Spleen supplements for iron and Ultimate Performance Ultramag magnesium supplements, increasing the dose before her period.

Atkinson, who lives in Manchester with her children, Mia (six years old) and Thiago (two years old), practices a 10-minute mother-daughter restorative yoga before bed. She's not afraid to recommend practical solutions for busy women, such as the weighted vest for those who don't have time for the gym or know which size dumbbells to use.

Atkinson's mother Sandra breezed through menopause, while her older sister Nina struggled. This has made Atkinson more aware of the importance of being proactive about health and wellness, especially as she enters perimenopause.

Atkinson wears Ace & Tate Blue Light-blocking Glasses to watch TV in bed. She drinks Willpowders Vanilla Keto Protein, a sustainably sourced grassfed bone broth, and takes supermarket boiled egg snack pots to work.

Gorka Márquez, Atkinson's fiancé, is a professional dancer born on September 4, 1990, in Bilbao, Spain. He is known for his participation in dance competitions and TV shows, including the British program Strictly Come Dancing. He is engaged to British actress Gemma Atkinson, with whom he has two children.
