The Rhoën Rangers, dedicated to nature conservation and environmental education, are set to host a special event at the Wanderparkplatz Schwarzes Moor on World Ranger Day, 1st August. This day promises a fun-filled, educational experience for all, with activities aimed at making children aware of the sensitive ecosystem and local wildlife.

In an interview with HIT RADIO FFH, Rhoën Ranger Sascha Heres explained the tasks and responsibilities of the Rhoën Rangers. These dedicated individuals work tirelessly to protect and conserve the natural environment of the Biosphärenreservat Rhön.

One of the key initiatives of the Rhoën Rangers is the construction of nest boxes to support local wildlife. During the event, children will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on activity to build nest boxes with the junior rangers.

The event, running from 12 to 4 pm, will feature three tours at 2 pm. These tours will focus on insects, the care zones of the Biosphärenreservat Rhön, and a walk through the Schwarzes Moor.

The Rhoën Rangers aim to educate children about the habitat of local bird species, with a focus on fostering a greater understanding and appreciation for the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

In addition to their conservation efforts, the Rhoën Rangers also organize themed tours to educate the public about the ecosystem and the importance of preserving it. These tours provide a unique opportunity to learn about the diverse flora and fauna of the region, as well as the measures being taken to protect it.
