Britain launches fully-financed Chevening scholarships for Pakistani applicants

The UK government has opened applications for the 2025 Chevening Scholarships, a prestigious programme offering fully funded one-year master’s degrees to Pakistani mid-career professionals.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be Pakistani citizens with at least two years of post-graduate work experience. They should also demonstrate strong leadership potential, networking abilities, and influence in their field.

Application Timeline

The application window for the 2025 Chevening Scholarships is open from August 5 to October 7, 2025.

Application Process

Interested candidates can apply online via the official portal: www.chevening.org/apply. The application process requires submitting an online form along with the following documents:

  • A valid passport copy
  • Academic transcripts
  • Updated CV or resume
  • Two recommendation letters
  • A motivational letter (personal statement) explaining leadership qualities and career goals
  • A study plan or research proposal for your chosen master’s program

Selection Criteria

Applications are assessed based on academic merit, leadership potential, professional experience, and the candidate’s plans to contribute to Pakistan’s development after the scholarship.

Financial Coverage

The scholarship is fully funded, covering tuition fees, airfare, visa costs, accommodation, and a monthly living stipend for the one-year course duration.

Additional Notes

The Chevening Scholarship programme is managed by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Over 2,000 Pakistani alumni have benefited from the programme and taken leadership roles in various sectors globally and in Pakistan.

It's important to note that the Chevening Scholarship programme does not provide information about the specific universities or academic programs that scholars will be immersed in as part of the scholarship.
