Bremen-Lesum marks the dedication of a new child and family center in a joyous Richtfest celebration.
New Children and Family Center Lesum to Open in Summer 2025
The Lesum neighbourhood in Bremen is set to welcome a modern and sustainable Children and Family Center, scheduled for completion in late summer 2025. The new center, spanning over 1,540 square meters across two stories, will replace the old facility that no longer meets the requirements for a contemporary kindergarten.
The new center will provide additional kindergarten places, expanding its capacity to accommodate up to 120 children. This includes three new groups, each with appropriate differentiation rooms. The center will also boast a new production kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared fresh daily.
The construction of the new center is being carried out by FA. Stehnke, adhering to the passive house standard. This design aims to protect the climate and reduce energy consumption, making it an environmentally-friendly choice for the community.
The project was celebrated with a topping-out ceremony, attended by Kerstin Brockmüller, project manager at Immobilien Bremen, the management of the KuFZ Lesum, Jessica Langenberg, the acting director of KiTa Bremen, Petra Stubakow, an architect, Henrik Wohltmann from the responsible construction company Stehnke, and the Senator for Finance Björn Fecker.
During the construction phase, the children will be temporarily cared for in a mobile building at Klostermühlenweg.
