Blog embarks on its third year of operation

Princeton University's research blog, now entering its third year, is a valuable resource for students interested in undergraduate research. The blog, which can be found on the home page under the "About our blog" tab, offers a wealth of information and insights to help students navigate their research journey.

One can engage with the blog by clicking "Contact Us" to ask questions or share thoughts. The blog also provides sharing options, allowing users to email, print, share on Reddit, save for later reading, or share on various social media platforms. These options open in new windows for easy access.

The blog features a "More" option, providing additional sharing or viewing options. This year, the blog will also have its own Facebook page, offering another platform for students to connect and share research-related content.

Emma Kaeser has taken over as the new Chief Correspondent for the blog, with Melissa stepping down after a successful year at the helm. The blog has been featured in the news and has podcasts available in the "our blog News" section.

Students can find articles addressing common research questions, such as how to identify and develop a meaningful original research project, available funding and travel grants, building strong faculty mentorships, and interdisciplinary research opportunities. The blog also covers topics like integrating a liberal arts education with a rigorous research experience, expectations and best practices for presenting research, connecting research interests to real-world applications, and resources for research in emerging fields like technology and society.

Additionally, the blog offers articles specifically tailored to different stages of the research process. For example, an article titled "Sophomores: Get Ready for Independent Work" can be found in the "Junior Paper (JP)" section. This autumn, Elise Freeman '19 and Taylor Griffith '18 will start contributing to the blog, bringing fresh perspectives and insights to the community.

Students can use Facebook to send questions, share research-related content, and tell others about their research. The blog's articles are categorised under specific sections like "Junior Paper (JP)" for easy navigation. With its comprehensive coverage and user-friendly design, Princeton's research blog is an invaluable resource for any student embarking on an undergraduate research project.
