Bihar Chief Minister Announces Reduced Exam Fees for State-Level Government Jobs

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a significant reduction in exam fees for state-level government jobs, marking a major concession for lakhs of youth aspiring for such positions.

In a recent post on Friday, Nitish Kumar announced that the fee for preliminary tests of all competitive exams for state-level government jobs in Bihar will be a uniform ₹100. Remarkably, candidates appearing in the main exams after qualifying prelims will not be required to pay any fee.

This fee reform is aimed at reducing financial barriers for youth seeking government jobs, making the recruitment process more accessible. The decision to bring uniformity in fees for preliminary tests and waive mains exam fees is expected to encourage greater participation in state employment opportunities.

Nitish Kumar emphasized that this initiative will help thousands of young people in Bihar, creating more opportunities for them. The move comes just months ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections in 2025, suggesting strategic timing that could positively impact the ruling party by appealing to young voters concerned about employment and their economic futures.

The Bihar government has taken several concrete steps to provide more opportunities for government jobs and employment for the youth. The Central Constable Selection Board, Bihar Public Service Commission, Bihar Staff Selection Commission, Bihar Technical Service Commission, Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission, and others administer state government recruitment tests in Bihar.

The state government's action is likely to further encourage young people to achieve their goals. By easing the path to government jobs, the government hopes to motivate young people to strive for success and contribute to the development of Bihar.
