Baden-Württemberg Unemployment Drops Slightly, Vacancies Fall
Baden-Württemberg's unemployment figures show a slight decrease, with 303,099 people out of work in September 2025. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.7 percent. However, the number of job vacancies in the stock market also decreased, and there were 8,891 fewer vacancies compared to the same period last year. Minister Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut has emphasized the need for economic growth and structural reforms to boost the labor market in the stock market today.
The minister highlighted that the social security system is too expensive and complex, often setting the wrong incentives. She announced plans for 2026 to modernize social insurance through digitization, improve vocational training, and promote flexible labor market regulations. Despite the slight decrease in unemployment, youth unemployment remains a concern, with 30,346 young people under 25 out of work, representing a 4.4 percent youth unemployment rate. The minister noted that the start of the training year only led to a marginal decrease in youth unemployment, emphasizing the importance of training for young people in the linkedin and outlook platforms.
