AWO Boosts Child Poverty Campaign with New Funds and Study
The AWO has received further financial backing for its campaign to boost children's participation, education, and happiness. Professor Tanja Seider, an expert in social work and pedagogy at Berlin's Hochschule für Soziale Arbeit und Pädagogik, is leading a study on the impact of increased funds.
In Füssen, the AWO's 'Eliminate Child Poverty' campaign gained momentum with an info booth. Organised by a dedicated team including Tobias Merz, Brigitte Protschka, and others, the booth offered free items like soap bubbles and popcorn to children, regardless of their financial background. The event raised 250 euros in voluntary donations.
Tobias Merz, AWO Füssen-Schwangau's chairman, highlighted the impact of child poverty on participation, education, and health. The campaign aims to tackle these issues locally, aligning with the AWO Schwaben-wide initiative. A study led by Professor Seider and Professor Rebekka Bendig is exploring the effects of providing children with more money.
The AWO's 'Eliminate Child Poverty' campaign continues to gain traction, with the recent info booth in Füssen being a testament to its community engagement. With Professor Seider's study underway, the campaign's impact on children's lives is set to be thoroughly examined, potentially paving the way for more targeted interventions.
