Arrest made in connection to the burglary of Macklemore's residence, according to authorities
In a series of events that have kept the law enforcement authorities and the public intrigued, a 29-year-old man with a history of convictions was apprehended last Thursday by a SWAT team in relation to the robbery at Macklemore's house in Washington state.
The break-in, which occurred on June 7, was noticed by Macklemore's nanny just after midnight. Two men had entered the house through an unlocked door and made off with high-end jewelry, including the Sounders Championship ring, the Seahawks Super Bowl ring, a diamond tennis bracelet, and other valuable items.
The police investigation into the robbery, which proved to be complex and lasted for two months, has now led to several significant developments. The arrest was also linked to a robbery case in Bellevue where the man removed an electronic monitoring device and failed to appear in court for violating the requirement.
Moreover, the suspect is believed to be connected to other high-profile robberies. Following the arrest, investigators linked the case to Thien Phuoc Jewelry in South Seattle. The owner of the jewelry store was arrested for allegedly trafficking the stolen items.
The combined value of the recovered items is in the tens of thousands of dollars. Prosecutors may charge the suspect as soon as Tuesday, but the suspect has not been officially charged for the latest robbery yet.
In an effort to identify other potential robbery victims, police posted pictures of the stolen items online. It is hoped that this will help victims come forward and aid in the ongoing investigation.
