Apple extends its coding educational offerings with a fresh Today at Apple workshop session

Apple is set to introduce a new coding session for kids aged 10 and up, titled 'Coding Lab for Kids: Code Your First App.' This exciting new addition will become part of Apple's rotating Today at Apple programming, starting December 5 at Apple Store locations worldwide.

The Today at Apple sessions, which offer free, daily in-store sessions, are led by Apple Creative Pros and utilise Apple-provided devices for all activities. In this new session, participants will use SwiftUI and a new, real-time app preview to customise and bring their app to life.

For those who wish to delve deeper into app development, Apple has created a range of resources. Learners can explore additional topics in Swift and Xcode on iPad and Mac with Apple's Everyone Can Code and Develop in Swift resources. Apple has also created a companion guide for app building in Swift Playgrounds, available in the Apple Education Community.

The iOS app economy supported more than 2.2 million jobs in the US in 2021, making it a high-demand field. To help learners prepare for these careers, Apple's resources are designed to teach essential skills. Sessions will be scheduled at convenient times for kids and families, and participants can register for the session at our website.co/coding-sessions.

For educators, Apple has developed the Celebrating You Educator Guide. This guide features a starter project using the About Me playground and can be applied to any subject in the classroom or used by campus coding clubs.

Thousands of participants have graduated from Apple Developer Academies, established worldwide, including those in Detroit, Naples, Italy, and Pohang, South Korea. These academies are part of Apple's global initiative to provide coding and app development education across 17 countries.

Apple's commitment to education doesn't stop there. For those who want to learn coding basics, there's the 'Coding Skills: Getting Started with Swift Playgrounds' session. Customers can sign up for this session as part of the Today at Apple programme.

For media inquiries, press contacts can be reached at media.help@our website. Apple continues to provide free resources for learners of all ages through Today at Apple sessions, preparing the next generation for high-demand careers in computer science.
